Has it been that long?

We are all "has beens" from another era. Whoever you are now is a reflection of who you once wanted to be, whether you reached your goals or failed miserably.

In fact, I think not reaching a goal is reason enough to change to grow into a different person. One that is capable of rethinking the meaning of success.

Being successful will transform you, but not as much as having to rethink the meaning of success. There is also a little bit of resilience going on in that case, which is always a good thing.

To come out on top of a situation no matter how bad it may have been is also a form of successs. Even Specially if you gain nothing but the desire to keep on living.

And that is why I see averyone -myself included- as a "has been" from another era. As the everlasting echo of a witty child, a bubbly teenager or a bold twenty-something.

There was a time you were young and stupid and careless. So was I. It was fun for the most part, and a bit dark as well.

Then things cooled off and decisions had to be made. Bridges were burned and ladders were built and only a handful of projects and people survived from those days.

But you can still play the guitar from those days and I still remember a few songs and names that I keep to myself. They belong to me now.

We are the result of the people we have met, the places we have been to and the feelings that still echo in our brains from those days.

Somos todo el pasado, somos nuestra sangre, somos la gente que hemos visto morir, somos los libros que nos han mejorado, somos gratamente los otros.
